| As per revised education policy Computer
Literacy Program in school class scheme has been introduced during
2001 by the Govt. of India.
The main objective behind
the policy is :

To create awareness among
school students about the computer and its usage in
teaching-learning process.

To ensure full benefit of
information and communication technology in their daily life and
in education at every level.

Familiarize the student
with different range of computer applications and help them to
understand the potential of Information Technology process.

Provide hands on
experience to students.
-
Improve the capabilities
of the children in terms of their performance in scholastic and
non-scholastic activities.
-
Integrate Information
Technology with classroom transaction.
Under the above mentioned
objective Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) has entrusted the
responsibility to us, to extend the facility of computer literacy to
students of neighborhood schools.
We have already implemented
the scheme by providing our computer exposure/literacy (every year
during summer vacation) to the 40 students belonging to ten (10)
neighboring schools situated within the radius of 5kms. In this
direction we are following a module developed by Navodaya Vidyalaya
Samiti (NVS) as under :
