POWERS AND FUNCTIONS OF
ADVISORY COMMITTEE
To assist the Vidyalaya making suggestions
for any improvement or reforms in the academic or other
procedure relating to the Vidyalaya including amendments of
prescribed rules and regulations.
To assist the Vidyalaya to secure local
assistance and co-operation for its better working and growth.
To assist the Vidyalaya
in organizing joint cultural programmes in collaboration with
other Vidyalaya of the district.
To function as bridge between the
Vidyalaya and the local community.
To assist in organizing the participation
of the children of occasions like Independence Day, Republic
Day and other similar celebrations organized in the district
and the State headquarters.
To assist the Vidyalaya
in making them pace-setting institutions in the every possible
manner through training of staff belonging to local schools,
extension of new methods of teaching in dissemination of
information in evaluation.
To organize activities
to make each Vidyalaya focal point for improvement in quality of
school education in general through sharing of experience and
facilities.
To assist in organizing
activities for children about their culture, to be made aware of
their entitlement and to undertake adventure activities.
On the basis of surveys and evaluation
studies conducted on the subject it is felt that the role of the PTC should be strengthen for effective management of
the Vidyalaya. As the Navodaya Vidyalaya Scheme has became
massive program and to develop as institution of partners in
progress of the Vidyalaya and under the guidelines of NVS the
composition of PTC is as follows :

15 Representatives nominated
by General Body of parents in promotion to sections in the
Vidyalaya with a female-male ratio in proportionate strength
of boys and girls.
Five teachers representatives
(minimum of two female staff to be nominated by teachers.
Vice-principal will function
as Member Secretary.
GRIEVANCE BOX
Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti has been trying to redress
the grievance of Teachers and staff posted in JNVs/ROs/Hqrs. offices
through various forums. Even the teachers and staff found the existing
avenues inadequate to represent their Grievances before the competent
authorities in time. In order to fulfill their aspirations, the
Grievance Cell of NVS Hqrs. have opened and E-mail address exclusively
catering to the need of aggrieved teachers and staff so that to avail
the facilities. The e-mail address is :
